Claire Hero Guide

Claire arrived as paid DLC on 4 September 2026, the same day as the Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation launch. She is not a secret unlock or a mobile-exclusive — she lives in the Claire Pack on every console storefront. The $7.99 price includes two things: a permanent x2 game speed toggle and a fourth hero with a Thunder Storm nuke and a 10% unit damage aura called Mighty.

If you already own the base game and you main a unit-based board (barracks, ranch, archer camp, mage tower), Claire’s aura is the most generically useful permanent boost of the four shipped fighters. Thunder Storm adds a slow and a burst to her combat button. The x2 speed is a quality-of-life toggle that does not affect drop rates.

What Claire brings

Permanent — Mighty: All units deal +10% damage. This applies to knights, horsemen, archers, and mages spawned by your buildings. It does not boost turrets, Teslas, or catapults. If your board is walls and turrets, this boost is wasted — pick the hero whose aura matches your actual damage sources.

Combat skill — Thunder Storm: AOE damage and slow on a cooldown. Targets caught in the storm take burst damage and move slower for the duration. Hold it for the same moments you would hold any hero skill: wave 10 boss slams, emergency leaks, or the clump that walks around your wall.

DLC bonus — x2 Game Speed: Toggle this on once the board is honest and you trust the path. It does not skip animations or change drop tables. Turn it off for challenge modes where you need to read the wave before committing.

Claire versus the three base heroes

The September 2026 console and PC build ships four heroes total. Claire’s Mighty aura is the only permanent that boosts unit damage across all four families. The base three have narrower focuses: cooldown reduction, building HP, or a family-specific buff. If you field mages as your primary damage, a 10% boost to their output is real and stacks cleanly with radius or cooldown draft picks.

Claire is not mandatory. She does not unlock a hidden fifth challenge or a second castle. Buy her after you know which board you main, not on day one because the pack is on the storefront.

When to use Claire

  • Board is unit-heavy (barracks, ranch, archer, mage)
  • You want the x2 speed toggle for farming easy maps
  • Thunder Storm slow helps on boss waves where enemies walk around walls
  • You are pushing Grand Battle or Boss Fight where sustained damage matters more than burst

When to stick with a base hero

  • Board is turret or catapult focused — Mighty does not touch those
  • You are still learning placement and need 1x speed to watch the path
  • You main a hero whose specific aura (cooldown, HP) matters more than generic damage
  • You are in Hero Battle and your base hero’s aura already matches the board perfectly

Claire in the four-hero meta

With four fighters available, the roster now reads as follows: three specialists and one generalist. The base three each boost a narrow category — a specific unit family, cooldown speed, or building health. Claire boosts all unit families at once. That makes her the safest pick when you have not yet committed to a single board archetype. It also makes her the weakest pick when your board is already optimized around a single damage type, because a focused 20% buff beats a generic 10% buff.

The practical rule: if you are still mixing unit types and cannot decide between mages and horsemen, Claire fills the gap. If you have committed to a mage tower board and your skill draft already reflects that, a base hero with a mage-specific aura outperforms Claire.

The x2 speed in practice

Treat the x2 toggle as a tool, not a default. Enable it after you have watched a map once at 1x and confirmed the wall placement is correct. Disable it when entering Boss Fight or Hero Battle, where reading enemy pathing at full speed costs more than the time it saves. Grand Battle is the clearest win for x2 — long waves with predictable paths are exactly what the toggle was made for.

Gear note

Claire uses the same gear system as the base three. Fuse boots and accessories the same way; the Mighty boost does not change fuse priorities. See gear for the fuse-and-set rules before spending blueprints.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Claire in the base game?

No. She is paid DLC in the Claire Pack, available on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch from 4 September 2026.

Does x2 speed affect loot or drops?

No. It only increases animation and movement speed during waves.

Does Claire's Mighty boost work on turrets?

No. Mighty increases unit damage only — knights, horsemen, archers, and mages from camps and towers.

Is Claire better than the base three heroes?

She is more generalist. The base three outperform Claire when your board commits to a single unit family and you pick a matching aura hero.
